INDIVIDUAL GIVING MANAGER
The Individual Giving Manager is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Sr. Director of Development & Marketing and works in collaboration with programming, event, donor, communications, and volunteer service teams. The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase individual donations to the organization. This role will focus on building and maintaining relationships with donors, managing donor communications, and ensuring the organization meets its fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will be passionate about LGBTQ+ rights, have a strong background in fundraising, and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The Individual Giving Manager will also be responsible for donor stewardship, acknowledgment, soliciting through donor programs, and maintaining historical development records in Salesforce. The Individual Giving Manager will organize quarterly Hero Circle events and ensure a strong representation of the organization in the community. The Individual Giving Manager will handle various special projects and other related duties as assigned.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Individual Donor Relations & Stewardship:
- Maintain, facilitate, and create positive and consistent relationships with donors through correspondence, thank you letters, appeals, and meaningful conversation.
- Cultivate, manage, and steward a portfolio of individual donors giving up to $2,500 annually using the organization's donor database and tracking methods, emphasizing retention and programmatic growth.
- Promote and manage the Hero Circle recurring giving program, including donor outreach, quarterly donor appreciation events, donor benefits program, and fund development sub-committee.
- Promote and confirm workplace giving and employer-matching gifts.
- Promote and manage relationships with third-party fundraising initiatives to ensure brand continuity, integrity, and compliance with guidelines.
- Represent and effectively present the organization at select donor convenings, donor affinity groups, and other public engagements.
- Contact and provide excellent and timely customer service regarding donation issues (returned checks, credit card declines, updated contact information, etc.)
Database Management:
- Track and analyze donor data to inform strategy and improve fundraising efforts.
- Create reporting to track fundraising goals and donor prospecting initiatives.
- Ensure timely entry of donor and donation information into the donor database, including but not limited to manual deposits, workplace giving, employer matching gifts, and third-party fundraisers.
- Create and mail/email acknowledgments and tax deduction correspondence.
Marketing & Design:
- Create and execute personalized donor communication plans, including email campaigns, direct mail, and special appeals.
- Create and design digital marketing collateral for social media, newsletters, and donor communications.
- Create and design marketing materials for events, programs, fundraising campaigns, and donor recognition.
- Coordinate and design Annual Report.
Event Assistance:
- Plan and coordinate donor cultivation events and other fundraising initiatives.
- Assist with implementing annual fundraising events, including Fresh Brunch, D4ONT, NCOD, and Hero Circle.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS and ABILITIES:

- Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, Classy, G-Suite, Excel, and other Office products.
- Assist the development team with fundraising campaigns, events, annual appeals, online fundraising, and 3rd Party activations.
- Graphic design skills, including experience with CANVA.
- Grant writing and research are a plus.

- Excellent risk management, prevention, intervention, and de-escalation skills
- Adapt to changes within the workplace & during the planning and execution of programs
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/DEMANDS: Standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, stretching, and able to lift 40 lbs. without issue.
TRAVEL: Ability & willingness to drive your reliable vehicle to various locations. Mileage reimbursement is available.
Position Qualifications
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Significant work experience in development and donor engagement.
- Strong computer skills required, including use of Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Familiarity with Salesforce database/CMS systems a plus.
- Good judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and boundaries.
- Experience working with diverse committees and volunteer leadership a plus.
- Involvement and/or knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community &/or non-profit organizations preferred.
