This class will discuss issues specific to the LGBTQ+ community in real estate:
What is Gender Identity & Expression: clarity on terms used such as: sex assigned at birth, Gender, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, Gender Dysphoria, and Transition
Realtor Code of Ethics: Fair housing requirements of the NAR Code of Ethics and how it compares to state and federal Law
State and Local Laws: A review of states and localities that have created laws stricter than the federal Fair Housing Laws and the impact on quality of Life (data from the ACLU)
Equality / Diversity / Inclusion & Difficult Conversations: Define the terms equality, equity, inclusion, diversity and others. A Review of "microaggressions" & "microinterventions"
Legal Recognition of trans & non-binary Individuals: A review of state and federal law regarding recognition of trans and non-binary individuals
Real Estate and LGBTQ+ issues: A review of Legal documents & challenges "deadnames", & best practices when representing gay, trans, and non-heteronormal clients
