Community Engagement Director
Position Summary
The Community Engagement Director serves as a primary ambassador for GPECC and ECF, representing the organizations throughout the community and advancing their missions through relationship-building, public speaking, visibility, and strategic outreach. This role is responsible for strengthening the Chamber’s presence, growing membership, and generating sponsorship revenue by engaging members, partners, sponsors, elected officials, and community stakeholders.
This is a forward-facing, relationship-driven position that plays a critical role in increasing awareness, trust, participation, and financial sustainability for both organizations. The Community Engagement Director actively recruits new members, secures event sponsorships, and promotes Chamber programs while ensuring the organizations are consistently and authentically represented in public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
Community Representation & Relationship Building

Serve as a visible, professional representative of GPECC and ECF at community events, meetings, conferences, and partner gatherings

Build and maintain strong relationships with Chamber members, sponsors, community partners, elected officials, and allied organizations

Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the Chamber’s presence, influence, and partnerships within the business and nonprofit communities
Public Speaking & Advocacy

Represent the Chamber as a speaker, panelist, or moderator at public events, forums, and partner activities

Deliver clear, compelling messaging about the Chamber’s mission, programs, membership benefits, and community impact

Support advocacy and public-facing initiatives in alignment with organizational priorities
Member Recruitment & Engagement

Actively recruit new Chamber members through community outreach, networking, and relationship-based engagement

Engage prospective members by communicating the value of membership, programs, and services

Support member retention by maintaining relationships and encouraging ongoing participation in Chamber activities

Collaborate with staff to ensure timely follow-up with prospective and current members
Event Sponsorship & Revenue Generation

Identify, cultivate, and secure sponsors for Chamber events, programs, and initiatives
-
Promote sponsorship opportunities in collaboration with the Executive Director and staff
-
Serve as a point of contact for prospective sponsors, guiding them through sponsorship options and benefits

Contribute to revenue growth by leveraging community relationships to generate memberships and sponsorship commitments

Earn commission on successfully secured new memberships and event sponsorships in accordance with the Chamber’s commission structure
Events & Forward-Facing Activities

Attend and support Chamber-hosted events, including networking events, conferences, and signature programs

Represent the Chamber at partner-hosted and community events as needed

Gather insights and feedback from community interactions to inform programming, outreach, and strategy
Collaboration & Reporting

Coordinate closely with the Executive Director and staff to align outreach, recruitment, and sponsorship efforts with organizational goals

Track community engagement activities, member recruitment, and sponsorship outcomes

Provide regular updates and reports on outreach efforts, opportunities, and results
Qualifications
Required

Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills
-
Experience representing an organization in a public, community-facing, or business development role
-
Proven ability to build authentic relationships with diverse stakeholders

Professional, confident presence and ability to represent organizational values
-
Availability to attend events outside standard business hours as needed
Preferred
-
Experience working with chambers of commerce, nonprofits, or member-based organizations
-
Background in community engagement, advocacy, fundraising, business development, or communications
-
Knowledge of the local business and nonprofit landscape

Compensation will be base salary plus tiered commission structure.
